Here’s a Gold Beach fall salmon for you. The fish was caught on a Bait Buster lure smeared with the UV enhanced Herring Super Gel. The fish fought the hardest I’ve ever had a salmon fight. Please enter this photo in your photo contest and hot tips contest. Take care and good fishing Tim Sorrels

When the planets are aligned and the gods shine down miracles do happen, even for me. I have been targeting this area for the last three days. Great conditions, no seaweed, small waves, lots of bait and a nice trough running parallel to the shore. Got to the beach about 8am to try and fish the incoming tide. Thought I'd switch it up and try throwing a good 'ol swim bait, dab a little Pro-Cure Super Gel and I'm ready. First cast and I get a hit about 20' from shore. I think this is a good sign. The fish comes unbuttoned, but upon further inspection the tail of my bait is bit off. Re-bait second cast and I'm on, I bring in a carbon copy pancake size flattie that I have been catching the last two days. With a friend's report of seeing a 30" flattie I had to keep trying. I caught another 13" on the plastic and then the bite died. Time to switch it up, threw a Nuclear colored Jerkshad for nothing. I figured I have about another 15 minutes before I got to go, so let's tie on the Hard Bait with some Pro-Cure Sardine Super Gel to see if I can get something going ??? On my third cast with my usual (as slow as I can stand) retrieve and twitch. It hit probably 10-15' from the incoming wave, right at the end of the trough. The fish did not hit hard. Just a tick and the end of the line as if the lure bumped a rock. I set the hook and instantly knew I had a nice fish on. After the initial runs and about 10 minutes of fighting the incoming waves she was done. The halibut measured 30" in length, 13.5" width and 2" thick. Here are some pics. Enjoy, I did!!!! Thanks Pro-Cure!!!!
